UTS Schools Winter Program
The UTS Schools Winter Program is aimed at aspiring junior rowers currently in Year 9 to 12 to develop skills and fitness, strive for top school crews or transition to club rowing. UTS Haberfield Rowing Club has a strong track record of developing rowers from school to club, who then go on to represent NSW and Australia.
In 2023, UTS proudly had the highest number of athletes on U19, U21 and U23 Australian teams.

Winter 2024
High-performing school rowers are invited to try out for our program. You will have the opportunity to work with our Director of Rowing and seven-time Olympic Medallist coach, Tim McLaren, Head Coach, Matthias Ungemach, Development Coach Judith Ungemach and other coaches, including Australian team coaches and winning GPS and School Girl HOTR coaches.
Sessions will predominantly focus on technique and skill acquisition. There will also be opportunities to improve your physical development. Spaces are limited, so get in quick by submitting the Expression of Interest form below.

Women's Winter Porgram
Through the winter we are focusing on building Women's Eights for interstate competitions through 2024-2025. Sunday mornings will be dedicated to Eights and Quads with a BBQ breakfast afterwards.
Top athletes in Years 11 and 12 may be invited to train with the UTS U19/21 squads on top of the Winter Program, and continue with UTS following the conclusion of the program.

Cost
The Winter 2024 program costs $650, payable after being accepted into the program. A UTS club zootie and visor is included in the cost.
Time Commitment
The program will run for 12 weeks from 5 May to 11 August, with a break over the Winter Holidays.

Tryout
Given that spaces are strictly limited, be prepared to undertake a skill, strength and fitness testing session. After this tryout, invitations to participate in the Winter 2024 program will then be sent to selected athletes, based on collected data and performance at the tryout session.

Opportunities
Successful Applicants will have the opportunity to race in Iron Cove Regattas for UTS. Additional entry fees might apply for some or all regattas.
