Study at UTS

UTS is a member of the Elite Athlete Friendly University Network, which means elite athletes have access to appropriate support services, helping facilitate academic success. 

As a member of the Elite Athlete Education Network (EAEN), UTS will attempt to assist athletes in the following areas:

• Assessments – assistance with assignment extension requests and negotiating examination arrangements
• Timetable/study planning - helping to find best fit for sporting and academic commitments     
• Enrolment assistance

A considerable fund has been established by ActivateUTS to provide support to high achievers in a wide range of sporting pursuits.

ActivateUTS has three programs to support athletes of UTS:

• Elite Athlete Program;
• Emerging Athlete Program; and
• High Performance Program

Depending on their level of representation, UTS Elite Athlete Program Scholars may be eligible for:

• Financial assistance in the form of a cash grant, depending on performance
• Free use of ActivateFit.Gym
• Full access to the UTS EAP Private Strength and Conditioning Gym
• Free access to the UTS Strength and Conditioning Department
• Subsidised fees when competing for UTS in University Sporting Competitions
• Assistance with Academic matters via the Elite Athlete Friendly University Network

You may be eligible for a UTS sporting scholarship if you:

• Are an enrolled UTS student
• Compete in a sport at a representative, State or National level with competitive selection.

The ActivateUTS Board reserves the right in special circumstances to grant a scholarship to students who do not meet the above eligibility criteria. UTS Elite and Emerging Athlete Scholars requirements:

• Maintain a minimum academic level of 'pass' for all subjects
• Compete for a representative UTS sporting team, where relevant
• Become a member of a UTS sporting club, where relevant
• Act as an ambassador for UTS and UTS Sport
