Regional pathways
Despite the Club's extensive links to the local Haberfield community, dating back to 1925, we are committed to helping create sustainable pathways for aspiring elite level athletes from regional New South Wales, to row and study in Sydney - in a supportive environment.
We have developed relationships with rowing schools and non-rowing schools in various regions across New South Wales. We periodically visit these schools to talk about the opportunity to study at UTS and to rowing at the Club. It is worth noting that 11 regional rowing schools are located in areas considered to be in the bottom 25% of the most economically disadvantaged.
The Club is working towards the development of student full scholarships (including accommodation & food allowances) to both study at UTS and row at the Club.
